New Challenges in an Unknown and Unpredictable Labor Market
During and since COVID, the labor market and the candidates moving within it seem to have become increasingly unpredictable. Quiet quitting, whether or not to return to the office, workations, significant shortages in the labor market, ghosting, and more. Is it unpredictability, or have we simply forgotten to listen and look at the data? Entire generations of scarce talent are spending hours on TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts, while employers are still using poor job postings and other outdated methods. And when it comes to flexibility, what does flexibility really mean for each generation or talent group? Geert-Jan Waasdorp takes a look at some unexpected developments in today’s labor market and how you can get a bit more of a grip on them.
